As the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, video calling apps and a wide variety of online meeting service provider platforms are certainly becoming increasingly popular. With the online meeting culture still fairly new, maybe many are still not familiar with the features offered by Zoom. Some people may experience issues related to online meetings. Here are 5 Zoom features that you can use to make your online meetings smoother.
1. Beauty filter
It is undeniable that lazy bathing is one side effect of the work from home culture. Maybe you get up late to attend a meeting or are too lazy to dress up because you only work at home. This can be overcome with the Beauty Filter feature on Zoom.
How to enable this feature is also very simple. Open the Zoom application on your laptop, then click the up arrow button located in the lower right corner. After that, click on Video Settings and check the Touch Up My Appearance box at the bottom of the video.
2. Use the Waiting Room for privacy security
Some of you may have heard the term Zoombombing. This term is used when someone enters a Zoom meeting uninvited.
This is certainly a very important issue. The person could have messed up your meeting or showed indecent things.
You can activate the Waiting Room feature by activating the "Enable Waiting Room" toggle in the Advanced Options section. When the participants want to enter the meeting room, they will be directly redirected to the Waiting Room screen.
They have to wait until the host of the meeting lets them in. Thus, Zoombombing events can be avoided.
3. Use Breakout Rooms to split the meeting
If you're having a meeting with a lot of people and want to divide the meeting participants into small groups, you can use the Breakout Rooms feature. This feature can divide the meeting into 50 small groups. You can divide meeting participants manually, automatically, or let participants choose the small group they want.
To enable this feature, go to Account Management>Account Settings. Under the Meeting tab, click Breakout Room. With this feature, you can make Zoom meetings more efficient.
4. Use keyboard shortcuts
Zoom has many keyboard shortcuts that can help you to navigate the meeting that is running. Commands such as sharing your screen, recording a meeting, or activating full screen can be done with just one click.

5. Make meetings realistic with Immersive View
This feature is a development of the background feature that was in Zoom before. Immersive View will place the meeting participants in the same background. With this feature, you can make Zoom meetings feel more similar to meetings in the original office.
To activate this feature, you just need to click the Immersive View option in the top right corner. After that, you can choose the background provided or upload the background yourself.
